Diego Maradona files criminal fraud accusations against Julio Grondona & River Plate board following historic relegation

Former Argentina coach Diego Maradona has presented criminal charges against Argentine FA head Julio Grondona and the former administration of River Plate, and called on them to explain the circumstances that led to the Buenos Aires giants going down to the B Nacional.

Los Andes confirmed that the Al-Wasl coach, and lifelong Boca fan's lawyer Alejandro Sanchez Kalbermatten handed in a criminal complaint on Monday evening against the parties mentioned above, who include former River president Jose Maria Aguilar, accusing them of fraudulent administration of the club.

The official complaint further alleges that mismanagement at the Nunez institution was committed intentionally by Grondona and Aguilar's administration, leading to River's disastrous financial situation and descent to the second-tier on Sunday, and asked the courts to call the implicated parties forward to testify.
